Happy Teachers' Day!!!

In less than an hour time it will be Teachers' Day, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the teachers whom I know... Happy Teachers' Day esp to our Mak Lao Shi!!!

I still remembered I wrote a Chinese essay on one of my chinese teachers back in seconday 4. I decided to post it here to express my gratiude towards him and not forgetting those who have taught me be it academically or non academically. (pls pardon me if you think the essay is not well written :p)

Here it goes...

我的华文老师

任劳任怨，鞠躬尽瘁，是丁庆来老师献身教育事业精神的最好写照。丁庆来是我的中学华文老师。鼻梁上挂着一副近视眼镜，他那历尽岁月洗礼的头发，已寥寥无几。额头上的皱纹就如火车的轨道，又深又长。丁老师在教育事业上默默耕耘了三十余年，虽问收获，却不居功。他的贡献精神受到众学生的肯定，与世无争的他，毅力坚强，百折不挠的精神令我佩服。三十多年悠悠的日子里，丁老师培育的学生不计起数，其中青出于蓝的，更是数不清。

身为华文部主任的他，为学生举办各种民族传统节日活动，如在农历新年，中秋佳节等举办联欢会，欢庆之余，让学生从潜移默化中，全面地认识东方文化，学习语文，继承优良的传统，培养起正确的道德价值观。

除了教学，篮球是他的最爱。他对球员的关心和照顾更是无微不至。每当一位球员擦伤，扭伤，摔伤，甚至脱臼时，他总是在最短最快的时间内让孩子得到最妥善的治疗，时间精力的耗费不在话下，需要时更自掏腰包，支付中医跌打医生诊费。更严密监视球员情况，不等他康复是不准下场练球或比赛。

丁老师可说是把一身的精力都献给了教育事业，他敬业乐业，又如春蚕，蜡烛，他为了栽培下一代而不断努力，他给予每位学生光明，照亮他们的前程。引导他们迈向灿烂的未来。丁老师让我领悟道：“人生最大的成就就是从失败中站立起来”的道理。成功的过程难免会遭遇狂风暴雨的袭击，但只要凭着坚韧的毅力，不向困难低头，最终的胜利还是属于我们的。看到成就时的那一份喜悦，是非笔墨所能形容的。

尽管前路崎岖，他始终觉得：只要功夫深，铁棒磨成针，为了弘扬中学文化，栽培继承华文生力军和培养篮坛接班人，他愿意继续努力，全力以赴。

虽然我再XX中学只有短短的四年，他是给我印象最深刻的一位老师，这一段中学生活已在我的人生旅程中留下光辉灿烂的一页。

School....

Oh, I didn't realise that I have not update my blog for some time. Anyway, school has already started so updates will be getting slower each time. This semester is thee busiest one in my entire university life i would say. Maybe because I'm in my honours year thus feel the pressure not to slack since you are with a bunch of elites... haha Also there is much more independent work than the previous year. During the first week of school, I kept questioning myself whether staying another year for honours is a good choice for myself after the lecturer has set expectations for us. BUt there is no way that I can back out now but to constantly psychoing myself that I can do it.. just have to work hard for less than a year and it is over. Seeing familiar faces in class is a real comfort for me as you know that there are people in class that you can turn to in times of need. You all know who you are thank you so much! :)

Lucky!!!

I went swimming with dear on Monday night. It was the best swim ever! Although it was night time, the weather was rather warm. I thought that it was ideal for swimming. Also, the water was not freakingly cold such that it would make you shiver. And the best part was, the sky was clear, meaning i could see a lot of stars. The night view was majestic, saw a lot of twinkling stars.
I was appreciating the stars with dear in the swimming pool when I saw a shooting star!!! I shouted shooting star! OMG that was the first time in my life that I saw a shooting star. And dear did not see it because he was looking at the other part of the sky. I was lucky! Immediately, I made 4 wishes. I have more wishes to make but thought 4 is already a lot, so decided to leave the rest to the next shooting star I saw. I was so happy that I kept calling dear, and when he replied I said, I saw a shooting star just now. This lasted for like the whole night and the whole of today. haha Up till now I am still very happy. heehee
