Day 2- Tai Yu Shan

The first day was a hectic one for us. The thought that we toured half of hk set me to wonder how adventurous the rest of the days in hk would be like. We woke up at 8am after the long night yesterday. Justus gave us morning call, he was the only person that was able to wake up on time after the tiring yesterday night. Alex was here in the morning to pick us up for breakfast. We went to a yum cha restaurant. You couldn’t imagine how much we had eaten for our breakfast after the round of lunch buffet and dinner last night, the 7 of us ate sooo much… again the pictures speak for themselves…

More to come...

The heaviest breakfast I ever eaten..

The famous 流沙包

After our breakfast, we went to see the Big Buddha at Tai Yu Shan, it was raining heavily on our way there, we took the cable car ride to the Big Buddha, and the ride is about 40mins, definitely worth the price for the scenery. We paid for about S$29 for a two way cable car ride. We watched two shows at the theatres, the shows are not that fantastic, in fact it was kidish. I was rather disappointed because I could not see the majestic view of the Buddha like what Nuan had seen earlier. But still, it is worth the trip there. Dear and I spent lots of money at the souvenir shops there buying gifts for our parents.

View from the cable car

Finally we saw the Buddha

Due to the stormy weather, the cable car ride was stopped for security reasons. There was a huge crowd waiting to be mobilized for transportation back by buses. Dear made friend with a kid while waiting, the kid seems to like dear a lot..

We are said to be very lucky because the next day after we had went to see the Big Buddha, one of the cable car dropped from 50+m high to the ground and till now it was still under maintenance. If we had visited the Big Buddha later, we might not be able to take the cable car and saw the nice scenery.

All of us

We returned to our hotel after that to wash up and met up with Alex and Wei Shan again for dinner. All of us were stunned when we heard that we were having buffet for dinner. The sashimi and sushi there were very delicious, ate quite abit. :p (pictures)

Oh ya, dear was having cough so we went to buy sea coconut syrup at 7-11. It is so expensive almost S$6 when you could get one bottle at $3+ in S’pore.

We went to ladies street after our dinner. I bought 2 bags thinking that they cost 20+ sing bucks when they are actually 30+ sing bucks due to my miscalculations. Heart ache.... Haiz.. I was feeling very down after that because those 2 bags cost me over 70 sing bucks. Nevertheless, this taught me to be more cautious in converting the currency subsequently.

Hmm this is cheaper than those in sg.. can buy..

Along the way we saw krispy creme, a stall famous for their doughnuts, truly live up to their name! It is delicious!
